The Recording Academy will announce nominations for the 69th Grammy Awards on Nov. 16, with proceedings starting at 7:45 a.m. ET — 4:45 a.m. PT — so the reveal can run partly inside Good Morning America. The full nominations list goes online at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT.

The early start is a direct consequence of a broadcast change: the Grammys move to ABC for 2027, and the Academy has built the announcement schedule around the network's morning show. The release promises "special live coverage" on Good Morning America, though it does not spell out what that coverage will contain.

The ceremony itself follows on Feb. 7.

Who announces the nominations?

Ten days before the event, the Academy named sixteen acts and presenters who will read out the nominees. The lineup includes one artist widely expected to contend heavily this year: Olivia Dean, who could be heading toward her second consecutive major Grammys showing.

The full list of participants:

  • Olivia Dean
  • Alan Menken
  • Amy Allen
  • Carly Pearce
  • David Guetta
  • Fyütch & Aura V
  • Herbie Hancock
  • Israel Houghton
  • Juanes
  • Kehlani
  • Linda Perry
  • Meghan Foley & Michelle Holme
  • Pharrell Williams
  • Renée Fleming
  • Yungblud
  • Ziggy Marley

The spread runs from disco-era hitmakers (Hancock, Perry) to current chart names (Kehlani, Yungblud) and legacy writers (Menken), which signals the breadth of categories the announcements must cover.

How to watch

The primary platforms are Grammys.com and the Grammys YouTube channel, both of which will carry the announcement. Good Morning America adds the broadcast-television window, with the undefined "special live coverage" promised in the Academy's release.

What does the schedule change for the race?

A 7:45 a.m. ET start compresses the reaction cycle. Nominees, publicists and labels now have roughly seventy-five minutes between the first on-air reveals and the 9 a.m. full-list publication — a window short enough that campaigns must prepare responses in advance rather than react to the complete field.

The ABC alignment also matters commercially. A nominations morning staged for Good Morning America puts Grammy news in front of a daytime audience the CBS-era broadcast never targeted at this stage, weeks before the Feb. 7 ceremony.

The open questions remain the ones the nominations will answer: whether this is Olivia Rodrigo's year, whether Olivia Dean repeats, and how far the field spreads beyond artists named Olivia.

Nov. 16 settles all of it.
