Kelly Clarkson Show Holds 88% Lead in Daytime Emmys Race After Finale

Published · Updated · 2 min read

The Kelly Clarkson Show holds an 88.2% chance of winning Best Daytime Talk Series at the 2026 Daytime Emmys, per Gold Derby's predictive odds, even though the syndicated talker signed off Aug. 31.

What does the calendar-year eligibility quirk change for the race?

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences counts work aired within a calendar year toward that year's Emmys. That timing sends the canceled series to two more ceremonies, not one. The Kelly Clarkson Show's 2025 episodes compete at the 2026 ceremony on Oct. 30 at the Hollywood Palladium. Its final batch — including the emotional sign-off — lands at the 2027 Daytime Emmys.

Clarkson enters this year's contest with eight career wins: four for hosting, four for producing. The inaugural American Idol winner, a current The Voice coach, and three-time Grammy winner told viewers in the finale: "After seven amazing seasons, it's our final episode." She capped the hour with a fan-requested cover of "Golden," the KPop Demon Hunters anthem.

Who leads the Best Daytime Talk Series predictions?

Gold Derby's odds give Clarkson's show a commanding lead over a six-name field:

  • The Kelly Clarkson Show — 88.2%
  • The Drew Barrymore Show — 5.9%
  • Live with Kelly and Mark — 2.9%
  • The View — 2.9%
  • The 3rd Hour of Today — --
  • Today with Jenna and Friends — --

A win would mark the program's fifth trophy in the category and Clarkson's fifth as producer. Last year, Live With Kelly and Mark scored a 2.9% upset, ending Clarkson's four-year winning streak and giving the show a shot at redemption this cycle.

Who leads Best Talk Series Host?

Clarkson holds a 93.9% edge as she pursues a fifth career hosting win. She was beaten by Drew Barrymore in 2025 and by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelas in 2024. All three — Barrymore, Ripa, and Consuelas — were snubbed in this year's nominees list, opening the field.

The nominees:

  • Kelly Clarkson, The Kelly Clarkson Show — 93.9%
  • The View hosts (Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro) — 3.0%
  • Sherri Shepherd, Sherri! — 3.0%
  • Tamron Hall — --
  • Jennifer Hudson, The Jennifer Hudson Show — --

What is the Mister Rogers connection?

Clarkson's finale aired exactly 25 years after Mister Rogers' Neighborhood signed off — a coincidence that moved the show's team. Showrunner Alex Duda told Gold Derby: "We once did a whole hour about Mister Rogers, and the Kellyoke was 'Won't You Be My Neighbor?'"

Duda added: "We feel good about what we did in daytime and while things are changing, there's always going to be space for somebody like Kelly who has an interesting voice. So we'll see what happens next."

That closing line leaves the door cracked for Clarkson to resurface in syndication after the 2027 ceremony closes the book on her current show.
